About Morrisfest 2019

Morrisfest 2019 is a celebration of Mark Morris' academic and scientific career as well as his 2^3 * 3^2 birthday. Please join us for this event at UCLA. It will be held on September 5-7, 2019 (Friday and Saturday with an opening reception on Thursday evening) at UCLA’s Luskin Conference Center and will feature scientific talks highlighting Mark's impact on a variety of fields in astrophysics and cosmology and on our scientific careers.

Mark Morris received his B.A. in Physics from the University of California, Riverside in 1969. He received his PhD in Physics from the University of Chicago in 1975. Mark was Assistant Professor in the Astronomy Department at Columbia University from 1977-1982. At UCLA since 1983, Mark is currently a Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy.

There will be a banquet dinner to which guests are invited. Banquet tickets can be purchased on the registration page.

The event is co-sponsored by the Galactic Center Group at UCLA, UCLA's department of Physics and Astronomy, and the UCLA Dean of Physical Sciences.
